I can get lost in the moment, and the shutter seems to click on it's own - when I'm fortunate enough to capture someone at one with their environment - a graceful Intha fisherman with an ankle around the oar, a Vietnamese woman in prayer over a misty lake, or a Moroccan man in a contemplative pose at the the sea wall. At other times, I am struck by color, form, mimicry or a lyrical landscape. And then there are those pictures that take shape when I look at them anew with fresh eyes and a different frame of mind. In every case, however, there is the making of a photograph using the elements of design and the elements of the heart.
